State Veggie Fair Draws Record Crowds
Despite the ominous clouds overhead, the ever-increasing crowds of vegans, vegetarians, and animal people continued to walk the path to Whitney Point on the lovely White Rock Lake this past Sunday. The fair was well-organized into quadrants – one for food vendors, one for animal groups, an indoor area for speakers, vendors and presentations, and an open area with some lively bands to keep us energized. It was great fun to meet the people we had only met online before, as well as to meet a few new members, too. There were entertainers too, as well as an area for children, complete with a bouncy house, and lots of lovely animals.
We visited fellow North Texas animal advocates Animal Connection of Texas and hope to join them in tabling at the Fair next year. Also tabling: our own new member Marjorie at Harp Seals DFW, Sea Shepherd, Mercy for Animals, Fair organizers Dallas.com, and many others. Despite the prior night’s electrical storm, mud was at a minimum and enthusiasm was at a maximum! Attending from ARRNT: Adam, Barb, Char, Ellie, Erin, Heather, Lynn, Marjorie, and Pam.
